The guardian deities (Kaval Deivangal in Tamil) by definition meant, they ruled the specific direction of spaces, and they would be seen with armed weapons to ward off evil spirits.<\/p>\n

In this temple, they were portrayed as Karuppanna Swamy, Rakkayi Amman, and Sonaiappan. The deity Karuppanna Swamy, a fearsome-looking with a flourishing twisted mustache, and protruding eyes, wielding a sickle in his one hand, and hunting rye in his other hand, is positioned in a shrine located in the Southeast corner of the temple.<\/p>\n
