The guardian deities (Kaval Deivangal in Tamil) by definition meant, they ruled the specific direction of spaces, and they would be seen with armed weapons to ward off evil spirits.

In this temple, they were portrayed as Karuppanna Swamy, Rakkayi Amman, and Sonaiappan. The deity Karuppanna Swamy, a fearsome-looking with a flourishing twisted mustache, and protruding eyes, wielding a sickle in his one hand, and hunting rye in his other hand, is positioned in a shrine located in the Southeast corner of the temple.
