The feminine deity “Mayana Kali” is portrayed as Pon Irulayi Amman, is in a gigantic sleeping form with protruding eyes and tongue, laid upon a cremation area of the village, which is also a boundary of the village. The deity has no shrine; she is seen lying in an open yard. She is the most fierce form, destroys the evil forces entering the village, and protects the devotees.
